Why Become A Member?
Membership means you are ready to call Royal Redeemer your spiritual home.  It signifies that you are ready for a deeper commitment, to share yourself and receive from others in Christian community.

How do I become a member at Royal Redeemer? Three classes (offered in the spring and fall each year) and a commitment…

1. The Lutheran Faith
   Two hours of instruction required for everyone new to the Lutheran faith.
    
2. Spirituality and Royal Redeemer
   • Spirituality vs. religion
   • Practices for spiritual growth
   • Royal Redeemer yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
      
3. Network Class
   The Network class is four hours of instruction and discussion designed to help you discover and use the unique gifts you bring to Christian community.
   
   Four inventories help you to discern your passions, gifts, and personality style which, when considered together, point to the ministry opportunities where you might serve with energy and joy.
   
   The Network classes are followed by a one-on-one interview, where you have the opportunity to talk through your Network results and where God may be calling you to serve now.
    
4. A Commitment
   When you have completed the above and are ready to join, you will be formally received into membership on Membership Sunday, which occurs in the fall and spring of each year.
   
   On that day, you stand before God and the people of Royal Redeemer and make a solemn commitment:
   • to continue steadfast in the confession of the Lutheran faith.
   • to participate regularly in worship and communion.
   • to continue growing in knowing  and living God's Word.
   • to support the work of Royal Redeemer with your prayers, time, and financial resources.

The people of Royal Redeemer likewise commit to care for your needs and support you in your ministry for God's kingdom.



Questions:
Does taking the membership and Network classes obligate me to join?
No.  The classes provide an opportunity to find out more about the Lutheran faith and this congregation.
You may choose not to join and still participate in many aspects of life at Royal Redeemer.

What if I'm coming from another Lutheran congregation?
If you are coming from another Lutheran-Missouri Synod congregation, you may transfer your membership by contacting your former congregation to ask for a letter of transfer.  You are still required to go through the three steps above.

All others join by profession of faith (on Membership Sunday) after taking the classes above.

What are the benefits of membership?
