What is Confirmation?

Royal Redeemer Lutheran Church has developed a comprehensive confirmation program for 6th -8th graders. The confirmation program prepares young people for the affirmation of their baptism and lifelong commitment to their faith. The program’s objectives are to understand the Christian faith and Lutheran beliefs, to develop a relationship with God and develop a relationship with the Church as a whole. The students are instructed in the Luther’s Small Catechism with emphasis on the following areas:

1) The Ten Commandments
2) The Apostles Creed
3) The Lord’s prayer
4) Baptism
5) Confession
6) Holy Communion

GRADE 5 SUNDAY SCHOOL
Sundays -- 10:45-11:45am
September - May

For 2011-12 the 5th graders have an opportunity to get a taste of our confirmation program during the late service Sunday School hour (10:45-11:45).  Students use the same Faith Inkubators curriculum we have used for years in confirmation.  The Sunday School lessons focus on stories from the Old Testament and the New Testament.  Students will receive a binder to help them with the biblical lessons throughout the year. 

For 2012-13 we are expanding the Sunday evening program to include 5th graders.  If you have a child in the 4th grade or younger, please look for additional information coming about the changes to the Sunday evening program at Royal Redeemer beginning in 2012-13.
